Sinuses have several purposes; one being a resonance chamber for speech. What happens when something resounds? It goes round and round and round. Could it be that thoughts are going round and round and round, with no outlet, no expression and no end in sight?
Sinusitis is an indication that inflammation is present; inflammation is different to infection. Infections are caused by harmful disease carrying agents that cause injury to the cells. Inflammation is part of the immune response to eliminate the cause of the infection, and begin the repair process.
As with any immune response, the body needs to monitor it closely. Too little inflammation may be ineffective to the healing process. Too much inflammation can compromise the cells and lead to other diseases.
On a metaphysical level, we may need to closely monitor what we are doing in certain situations. Too little involvement may be ineffective. Too much may cause long-term damage.
Sinuses are hollow cavities found in the front of the skull; the forehead, cheeks, top of the nose and behind the eyes. From a metaphysical perspective, they are related to something that is in your face. There could be issues that are ‘in your face’ that need to be closely monitored and subsequently addressed. Sinusitis could be drawing your attention to them.
There may be other messages that problematic sinuses are trying to draw your attention to. When you understand the purpose of the body part and what the dysfunction is doing, it’s not always that difficult to connect them to something that is happening in your life that needs to be addressed.
