I’ve come across several women having a difficult time at menopause. If they don’t take HRT they have extremely uncomfortable symptoms. If they do take it, they have a period. They are stuck. Whichever way they turn, they can’t seem to win.
By this age, most women know what isn’t working and what needs to change. Whether they are able to follow through and make those changes is another thing. That is when the body comes to deliver its message: change your life or suffer the change of life symptoms.
Menopause symptoms are a result of hormonal imbalance which involves the endocrine system. As I think, the message from this system is related to authority figures and growth through negative feed-back.
The master gland in the body doesn’t produce all the hormones required; it encourages the relevant gland to produce their own. If you have spent your life ‘doing for others’, menopause is the time to encourage them to do it for themselves rather than you continue to do it for them.
It is time to explore your creative abilities and discover what you are really capable of achieving. If you have listened to criticism over your years, change what you hear to constructive comment, and use this newly discovered information to your advantage.
During my menopause I had a couple of night sweats over 2 weeks, then a final period after 18 months. During that time I completely changed my life. I’m not talking about leaving my husband or anything like that. I recognized the patterns that had unconsciously ruled my life; made the appropriate changes, and began to make choices that honoured my needs, instead of putting everyone else first.
If you have menopausal symptoms, maybe a change in some area your life would be a good place to begin. Sometimes, some women do need a little pharmaceutical help, but that doesn’t mean it will last the rest of their life. As you change your life, and become your own voice of authority; and as you express your own unique creativity, you might be surprised how this impacts on other areas of your life and health.
